THE DRAWING ROOM opened in May 2005 in Stone Ridge, New York, a historic hamlet in the Hudson Valley.
After establishing its identity with exhibits of her own creations of art, gallery owner Denny Dillon
proceeded to choose select artists with a unique sensibility and style and gave them solo shows to exhibit. The successful art openings
prompted Woodstock Times art critic Paul Smart to write:
"Dillon not only owns and operates one of the region's more enterprising galleries, The Drawing Room, out of her Main Street home in Stone Ridge, but is also a visual artist of rising note herself... Drawing Room openings, by the way, are always fun events... the perfect
excuse to catch up with this burgeoning scene, having a great conversation starter at hand, as well as a golden opportunity to buy a little something to brighten up, lighten up, one's own home as only a Dillon can."
